We all understand the pains of selecting colours for your next project. It can be super overwhelming unless you are sure of the colours you want. We chose a set of 6 tools that will make your life easier when choosing colours. Some of these tools we use when we run out of ideas on what colours we need for a particular project. We know that more tools out there are indeed good, but the ones we found are easy to use and have a great selection of colours, colour palettes and gradients.

Adobe Color

This tool allows you to create colour schemes by selecting a base colour and then choosing complementary, analogous, or triadic colours. It also has a colour wheel and a library of pre-made colour schemes.

Canva Color Palette Generator

This tool allows you to upload an image and extract a colour palette from it, or you can use the colour wheel to create your palette.

Color Paletter Generator

This tool allows you to generate hundreds of colour palettes and allows you to modify the colours of the palette generated to create your unique colour palette. There is also a collection of colour palettes for your inspiration which you can use for your projects.

Colormind

This tool uses machine learning to generate colour palettes based on a set of input colours or an uploaded image.

Coolors

This tool allows you to create colour palettes by selecting a base colour and then choosing colours that are analogous, complementary, or triadic to the base colour. It also has a colour wheel and a library of pre-made colour schemes.

Color Hunt

Color Hunt has a huge collection of hand-picked colour palettes so you don’t have to worry about picking out combinations. Colour palettes are updated regularly which makes it one of the best sites for colour inspiration for your designs and projects.

In addition to these online tools, many design software programs, such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, have built-in colour pickers and palette generators that can help choose colours.

Know of a great tool apart from these to generate colour palettes and colour inspiration for designers? Let us know in the comments below.
