Is it possible to work remotely as a User Experience Designer?

June 16, 2020 by Swathi Kirthyvasan

With the current situation all over the world, remote working is going to (already has) become the new normal. A large number of employees from a variety of domains and industries are all now working from home and have seemed to adopt the practice well. Yes, UX Designers are also among those people who are also working remotely now; and it is possible for them to work remotely for most of the time. Working remotely has its pros- the freedom and flexibility to work at any time, taking calls in your pyjamas (we know), time to work on a few passion projects and expand your skillset and many others. The most important thing to remember that even though you are working from home, you are still held accountable if you aren’t delivering your end of the work. Make sure you take your client and team calls, participate in the discussions and feedback sessions, keep track of your timelines and deliverables and deliver whatever needs to be done. Use project management tools for the projects you work on, collaborate with your team to ensure everything goes smoothly, and make sure the client is updated with the status of the project (no one likes to be left in the dark). Working remotely sounds super exciting and fun, but there are additional responsibilities, which if managed well, can make working remotely easy and relaxing.
