Why are more people these days titling themselves as designers?

May 2, 2018 by Swathi Kirthyvasan

Yes, even we are aware of this trend. Titling yourself just as a “designer” becomes highly ambiguous. What are you trying to tell by calling yourself a “designer”? Are you into UX, visual, graphics, product? Telling what you actually are, will help prospective recruiters know what you are doing. But, there is even that instance where guys who self-title themselves as UX and UI designers don’t know anything about it, but just put it up for the sake of it. It’s become a trend these days because of the growing popularity and trend of a career in design. Please don’t be one of them. Take design courses, learn the practical way and understand what needs to be done. Ensure you have the skills that make you a designer and not just for the sake of showing off to people that you are one. That sure will bite you in the back someday.
