Why do people expect great UX nowadays?

May 10, 2019 by uday nandan

Because users are becoming smarter. Technology is evolving faster these days and so are the users. Of course, as people who use a variety of products, we do wish to have a smooth and seamless experience every single time we use it. That’s fundamental with which products are built these days; to ensure that users are able to achieve a specific task easily and quickly. Even if there is a small glitch in the experience, users are quick to point out the errors; and in some cases stop using the product/app altogether. We don’t want that to happen right?

One of the best examples of how important UX is is the Indian Railways booking portal. The experience is sometimes highly nerve-wracking that at some point people just give up the booking process entirely. If the process (or let’s say experience) is made easier for users, there definitely will be a rise in the number of people using the portal to book tickets. It all boils down to how well this can be done to make everyone’s life easy.

It’s because of reasons like these companies are now focussing on improving their experiences. They are going that extra mile to understand and focus user needs and goals and expectations. More and more brands are realising the need to deliver experiences users will love; which ultimately is what matters. Great UX, Happy Users is the mantra these days.
