Frankly, it doesn’t make any difference. It is just another shiny certificate in a UX designer’s shelf. You don’t really need to be a certified usability analyst to understand usability. Usability is a lot to do with being practical and observing how people use and experience apps, websites and applications. Yes, organizations will value an HFI certificate. But more than a certificate, organizations will value the skills and knowledge of usability you bring to the table. Just having a certificate will not solve the issue, will it? Knowing the in and out of it; how usability works, performing analysis and tests, knowing how to apply usability while designing a new product is what it is all about. Everyone can get certified; but it takes a lot to apply that knowledge to real life, practical client and user-based projects.
