Does one need to have artistic talent to become a UX/UI Designer?

July 13, 2018 by Swathi Kirthyvasan

Absolutely not. You do not need to be an artist to become a UX Designer. A UX Designer’s job entails interacting with clients, performing user and market research, coming up with design solutions and ideas, sketch and prototype the concepts and drive the project. You absolutely require no artistic skills to do all of the above things. Even when it comes to sketching ideas, wireframes or creating prototypes you don’t need to make your ideas look like an artist’s work. That is essentially not our job to do. It’s all about our thought process which count and not Picasso-like drawing skills.
